FRONT BRAKE DISCS T-DRIVE
During braking, the disc dissipates the kinetic energy of the motorcycle, through the heat produced by the friction between the pads and the disc itself.
The latter is therefore stressed by a thermomechanical action to which the disc must resist without permanently deforming.
Each disk is equipped with its own inertia (tendency of a body not to change its state of motion) depending on weight and external diameter, which, in practice, influences the rapidity in changes of direction. The design of a disc cannot therefore ignore the above and will be all the better the more it manages to be light and at the same time resistant.
T-DRIVE DISC
Born from the experience gained in SBK and MotoGP, the “T-Drive” disc presents a new coupling between band and bell, consisting of eight “T” pins obtained on the disc and eight shapes on the bell, which allows the elimination of the drag pawls. This system ensures the transmission of the braking torque more effectively and improves resistance to thermo-mechanical stress.
The “T-DRIVE” system allows both radial and axial floating and allows to reduce the overall weight of the disc, bringing a substantial advantage in drivability. The band has been optimised both by reducing its height (lighter weight) and by redistributing the arrangement of the holes (of different diameters). The bell also contributes substantially to the final result: made of light alloy by CNC machining, it has been designed to guarantee lightness and rigidity.
